I write, teach and make magic for all forms of justice. From re-storying the future to shaping energy (a.k.a. magic), my offerings help answer this question:
How will we bring forward a just, regenerating world?
I hope this question permeates your life as well. I’m heartened by all the people collaborating, working in the commons, crafting solutions, raising their voices for justice, equity, inclusion, decolonization, a sustainable future, the Earth, and so much more.
My contributions:
I write a hopeful, solarpunk future
Big news! I’ve signed with Water Dragon Publishing to bring you my debut lunarpunk novel, The Working. See my blog post: Of Witches, Covens…and Dragons?
The modern coven in The Working must thwart a looming eco-cataclysm and find the key to the bright future we need. Hail the feminist Witches! I can’t wait for you to meet them.
The Working is like a contemporary The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow intersecting The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin.
I’m thrilled to announce my story “Thank Geo” is featured in Solarpunk Creatures (World Weaver Press, January 2024) edited by Sarena Ulibarri and friends.

I teach to change the world
Active and teaching in the worldwide Reclaiming Tradition since 1995, my workshops with internationally acclaimed author and teacher, Starhawk, offer tools to shape our world. My Witchcamp teaching and regional workshops help us stay centered and resilient in these spinning times and widen our energy and effect in the world.
Next up: I’m co-teaching a solarpunk path at SpiralHeart Witchcamp in June. Registration is now open. Consider joining us at this weeklong magical intensive.
In addition to working with pagans and Witches, I offer workshops to a wider audience, such as Storying a Regenerative Future presented through Columbia University to international sustainability educators.
I make magic for the world as a solarpunk Witch
Many have asked why I use the word Witch. See this post for more on that. Like others, I reclaim the word Witch as a descriptor of my Earth-based spiritual path. I’m proud to be part of the non-hierarchical, ecofeminist, antiracist, activist, evolving Reclaiming Tradition.
An aside:
I’ve been using my sacred name in the world for decades. I’m amazed at the number of people and businesses using BrightFlame as their RPG (gaming) or business name. Perhaps you’ve come across this phenomenon when searching for me.
